The 2nd Rome Turkish Films Festival will take place in Italian capital this October, with renowned Turkish film director of Nuri Bilge Ceylan this year’s guest of honor.

After receiving great interest last year, this year’s festival will take place with the support of the Turkish Ministry of Culture and Tourism, the Turkish Ministry of EU Affairs and the Turkish Embassy in Rome, from Oct. 18 to 21.

‘A fantastic event between Turkey and Italy’
The president and the honorary president of the festival, Serap Engin and the acclaimed Turkish-Italian director Ferzan Özpetek respectively, said the festival was a fantastic event between Turkey and Italy, and that they would like the festival to become a permanent fixture on the cultural calendar.

“When we see people smiling when they look at our posters it makes us happy. That is why we think that we are on the right path,” Engin said.

Combining modern Turkish classics with short films and documentaries by up-and-coming directors, the festival provides a platform to assess Turkey’s contribution to contemporary cinema.

Casa del Cinema covers an area of 2,500 square meters. Its movie house, Sala Deluxe has the most modern projection and sound systems and equipments.
