Turkish, British top soldiers meet in Ankara

ANKARA
The top soldiers in the Turkish and British militaries came together for a meeting in Ankara on Feb 10, state-run Anadolu Agency has reported.

British Chief of General Staff Gen. Stuart Peach was hosted by Chief of General Staff Gen. Hulusi Akar at the military headquarters in the Turkish capital, the agency reported, without giving details of the content of the talks.

The U.K. is an active partner of the international coalition in the fight against the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL).

Gen. Peach’s visit comes two weeks after British Prime Minister Theresa May’s trip to Turkey, where the two governments discussed a wide range of issues including cooperation in the defense industry field.
