Turkish Airlines New York flight diverts to Canada after passenger falls ill

ISTANBUL

A Turkish Airlines flight bound for New York has been diverted to Canada after one of the passengers onboard fell ill, Doğan News Agency reported on Dec. 28.

The Boeing 777 model airplane with the flight number TK12 had been heading on its course above the Atlantic Ocean when one of the passengers fell ill.

The captain pilot later diverted the plane to the nearest destination, Canada’s Halifax Stanfield Airport.

The plane landed at the airport successfully, however, the identity of the passenger was not immediately known.
