Turkish Airlines’ first-half net Income at $423 million

Turkish Airlines recorded a net income of $423 million in the first six months of 2026, representing a 34.6 percent year-on-year decline, according to the carrier’s financial results released on Aug. 5.

The airline’s total revenue climbed 20.8 percent year-on-year to $13.1 billion in the first half. Passenger revenue reached $10.4 billion, up 17.1 percent year-on-year, while cargo revenue advanced 44.1 percent to $2.25 billion. Technical services revenue moved lower, declining 8.9 percent year-on-year to $296 million.

The company’s net income margin stood at 3.2 percent, compared with 6 percent in the same period a year earlier.

Fuel expenses totaled $4.32 billion in the first half of 2026, marking a 55.1 percent year-on-year increase. In the second quarter alone, fuel costs rose 92.9 percent year-on-year to $2.77 billion.

In the second quarter, Turkish Airlines generated $197 million in net income, down 71.5 percent year-on-year, while revenue increased 20.5 percent year-on-year to $7.2 billion.

Passenger revenue for the quarter amounted to $5.68 billion, up 14.9 percent year-on-year. Technical services revenue, meanwhile, decreased 19.5 percent year-on-year to $149 million.
