Turkish Airlines aircraft enroute to Washington makes emergency landing in Istanbul

A Turkish Airlines plane that had taken off from Istanbul Atatürk Airport bound for Washington D.C. was forced to return to make an emergency landing at today after a instance of bird strike occurred, damaging one of the aircraft’s engines.

The plane was carrying 220 passengers, all of who were subsequently transferred to another plane to continue onto the U.S. capital.
