Turkey’s top soldier heads to Britain for ‘military cooperation, regional talks’

ANKARA

Turkish Chief of General Staff Gen. Hulusi Akar on Dec. 18 departed for the United Kingdom for an official visit, the Turkish Armed Forces has announced.

 

Akar’s trip is part of an official invitation from his British counterpart Sir Stuart Peach, according to the statement by the Turkish military.

 

The two soldiers are expected to “discuss military cooperation and exchange ideas on regional developments,” it added.
