Turkey's International Antalya Film Festival postponed

ANTALYA - Anadolu Agency
The 52nd International Antalya Film Festival has been postponed by a month to mid-November, the municipality of the southern province of Antalya announced Sept. 4.

The event was postponed to Nov. 29 - Dec. 6 due to the Nov. 1 general election, and the G20 summit scheduled for Nov. 15-16 in Antalya, the municipality said in the statement.

The famous festival, which was until this year called the International Golden Orange Film Festival, was originally scheduled for October 18-24.

"The G20 summit is the most important political organization in the world. [...] This change in the dates has been deemed necessary in order to strengthen the position of these two important events amid the G20 and the upcoming general election," the statement said.

The 16th International Piano Festival has also been postponed for the same reasons to Nov. 17-29, it added.

The festival was originally scheduled to run from Sept. 26 to Oct. 18.
