Turkey sends letter to UN on jet downed by Syria

From online dispatches
Turkey sent a letter to the United Nations Security Council on June 24 over Syria’s downing of a Turkish warplane in the eastern Mediterranean two days previously.

The letter, published by the New York Times, calls the shooting incident a "serious threat to peace and security in the region" and gives information on the coordinates of the location where the plane was struck and where it crashed.

Both Turkish and Syrian radar and radio records testified that the plane was shot in international air space and added that "thirds parties' radar records would substantiate these facts as well."
