Turkey defeats host Serbia in youth cup

The Turkish national men’s volleyball team today defeated host Serbia in Belgrade 2-3 at the 2013 CEV Youth Volleyball European Championship.

The game ran for an hour and 44 minutes with sets 14-25, 25-21, 16-25, 25-19 and ended 7-15.

Turkey’s Cansin Ogbai Enaboifo and Serbia’s Andrija Vilimanovic topped the scorers’ chart with 21 points each.

“Today we are not satisfied with our performance. We have to play better if we want to qualify to the semifinals,” Turkish captain Yiğit Gülmezoğlu said.

Turkish Volleyball Federation head, Özkan Mutlugil, chairman Ahmet Göksu and Federation for International Volleyball (FIVB) head and Serbia Volleyball Federation head Aleksandar Boricic watched the game together.

Turkey will play against Finland tomorrow at 6:30 p.m.
