Turkey and Brunei lift visa requirements

Turkey and Brunei signed agreements to lift visa procedures during a visit by Bruneian Sultan Hassanal Bolkiah to Ankara yesterday.

Turkey would like to draw investments from Brunei, President Abdullah Gül said in a joint press conference with Bolkiah yesterday. “Brunei Investment Agency has strong investments in many countries.

We believe that they will also include Turkey on their list to make investments,” Gül said. Turkey and Brunei signed agreements to boost economic, commercial and technical cooperation. Gül said Turkey would like to widen the scope of cooperation in the energy sector specifically in natural gas and liquefied natural gas. The sultan, for his part, appreciated Turkey’s progress. “We hope that you will share your experiences and expertise with us.”

“I would like to say that I have been amazed by what I see in Turkey,” he added. The sultan said they underlined the importance of establishing permanent representations in each other’s countries.

“We follow and greatly appreciate Turkey’s development in all fields. We hope that you will share your deep experience and knowledge of development with our people. I offer my thanks to the esteemed president for inviting me to Turkey and giving me the chance to see Turkey’s historical and religious wealth,” said Bolkiah.
