A truck that was proceeding with its dump bed raised hit an overpass in Istanbul on Sept. 22, causing panic on a road linking to a major highway but no casualties.

The incident occurred on an access road in the Kartal district of Istanbul, approaching the TEM highway.

The dumper detached from the vehicle when it hit the overpass, damaging the destination boards that were hung on the structure. The truck then crashed into a nearby residential building.

Traffic was briefly halted due to the accident, as municipality teams cleared the road.

An investigation has been launched.

One person was killed and four others were injured on Sept. 3,  when the dump of a truck carrying liquid glucose hit an overpass on the E-5 highway in Istanbul’s Avcılar district.
