Three officers killed in clashes in southern Turkey

Three soldiers were killed and one was wounded in clashes with alleged members of the outlawed Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK) today in the southern province of Hatay, daily Hürriyet reported. 

One major and two lieutenants were killed in clashes on Amanos mountains near Turkey's border with Syria. One soldier who was injured was taken to İskenderun State Hospital. Four PKK militants were also killed in the clashes. 

The PKK is recognized as a terrorist organization by Turkey, the United States and the European Union.
