Ten more Turkish tanks cross into Syria in Jarablus operation

KİLİS
At least 10 more Turkish tanks crossed the border into Syria on Aug. 25, on the second day of the broadening Jarablus operation by the Turkish military and U.S.-led coalition forces to sweep the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL) jihadist group from the border.

Another 10 tanks and caterpillars were dispatched from units in the border town of Karkamış at around 9:30 a.m.

The tanks rolled into Jarablus, which was taken by Turkey-backed Free Syrian Army (FSA) fighters during the “Euphrates Shield” operation.

Between 15 and 20 tanks and armored vehicles crossed the border on Aug. 24 in the aftermath of shellings and airstrikes by Turkish and coalition warplanes across the border.
