The political stance of the “particular political party” that acts as an extension of the outlawed Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK) is "very" important following this morning’s suicide bomb attack by suspected PKK members in Kayseri, Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdoğan has said.

The prime minister made the comments about the attack in Central Anatolia following Friday prayers at Istanbul's Selimiye Mosque.

One police officer and three attackers were killed in this morning’s blast.

Turkey will not be deterred in its struggle against terrorism, Erdoğan said, offering his condolences to the family of the police officer killed in the attack.

The PKK is listed as a terrorist organization by Turkey, the United States and the European Union.
