Soldier killed in PKK attack in Turkey’s southeast

Soldiers carry the coffin of Specialized Sergeant İslam Çubuk, who was killed in Şırnak, in the Black Sea province of Ordu.

One soldier was killed in an outlawed Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK) attack in the Uludere district of the southeastern province of Şırnak on April 22.

The soldier was wounded during an ongoing security operation against the PKK and was taken to the Şırnak State Hospital with a military helicopter, where he succumbed to his wounds.
