Romantic Rebels visit Borusan’s house again

The show of Arkın (L) and Dalceggio originally closed July 25, but will re-open Sept. 1 due to audience demand.

Borusan Culture and Arts is set once again to bring art enthusiasts the adventures of musician and DJ Arkın (Mercan Dede) and painter Carlito Dalceggio, artists from Montreal and Istanbul who call themselves “Romantic Rebels.” The duo’s exhibition originally closed July 25, but will re-open Sept. 1 due to audience demand. The exhibition will reopen on Sept. 1 and continue until Oct. 5.

In “Revolution Revelation,” Dalceggio represents the theme of “revolution,” while Arkın represents that of “revelation.” “Revolution,” as the artists see it, is an invitation to get rid of the ego and break away from shells and masks to reach a new level of awareness. “Revelation” describes the inner transformation that follows and completes “revolution.” The two artists see life and their artistic production as loops existing within one another, and prove that even as they move away from each other, they can pass through the same point as more aware, more enlightened beings.
