TOKAT

Police on July 20 detained the mother, father, grandmother and uncle of Evrim Atış, a three-year-old girl who has been missing since July 10.

A neighbor was also detained on the same day in connection with her disappearance, local media has reported.

Evrim was last seen playing with her sibling in front of a tent her family pitched on a plateau near the Yenisu village of the Turhal district of the Central Anatolian province of Tokat.

Local gendarmerie forces questioned her mother, Dilek Atış, the father Burhan Atış, Evrim’s grandmother Sati Atış and her uncle Nazi Atış as well as Ali Hin, a neighbor, regarding the disappearance of the three-year-old girl.

The gendarmerie eventually released the grandmother and the neighbor, but the mother, father and the uncle were kept in custody as of July 21.

Meanwhile, the operation launched by units from the Disaster and Emergency Management Authority (AFAD) and local gendarmerie to find the missing girl is still underway.
