President’s spokesperson slams Frankfurt police over tweet

ANKARA

Presidential Spokesperson İbrahim Kalın slammed Germany’s Frankfurt Police Force for a Twitter post, accusing the police force of praising the outlawed Kurdistan Worker’s Party (PKK).

“This is the German police’s praise of terror: ‘We are at your service this evening, Freedom for Öcalan, Peace in Kurdistan,'" Kalın posted on his official Twitter account on Oct. 17.

His comments came after the Frankfurt Police Force’s post on its official Twitter account that attracted criticism on the social media platform.

“For your service this evening, we will be at the demonstration themed ‘Freedom for Öcalan, Peace in Kurdistan,’” the Frankfurt police’s official Twitter account posted on Oct. 16.
