One of President Abdullah Gül's bodyguards will accompany him from now on with a micro-camera affixed to his glasses, the daily Hürriyet has reported. The unidentified bodyguard had been previously videotaping Gül with a hand camera.

"It is the first time we're using such an application and it is for security reasons. We aim to obtain images we used to record with a hand camera with the glasses' camera. We can also record voices," a security officer who works for Gül told reporters.

This new technology was reportedly tested for the first time during the inauguration of the new Çankaya University campus in the capital of Ankara.
