Piramid Sanat hosts panel discussion on GeziPark

The Piramid Sanat, one of the very rare independent art centers in Turkey, is holding a panel discussion about Gezi with the participation of, Bedri Baykam (Moderator), Artist - Writer and President of UPSD (Turkish Professional Artists Association) and Executive Board Member of AIAP/UNESCO (World Art Association), Pınar Kür, writer, Denizhan Özer, Artist and Curator, Nasuh Mahruki, President of AKUT (Search and Rescue Association), Writer and Alpinist. Also Denizhan Özer’s and Piramid Sanat’s Photo Archives about #occupygezi will be seen.

This will be one of the very rare occasion where our foreign visitors will be able to follow this subject closely, without any censorship.

The panel will be held on Sept and will be held in English. The discussion will be focues on was it really “Just about few trees and a park, what was behind the political accumulation of tension and what was the drop that overflowed the bucket, where do secularism, democracy freedom of speech and liberties stand in Turkey, how did the Turkish art scene react to #occupygezi, how much censorship reigns in the flow of information in the Turkish media, what does the future store for Turkey.
