Turkey’s internationally acclaimed pianist Gülsin Onay performed a concert on Oct. 21 at the Turkish Embassy in Vienna. The concert, hosted by the Turkish Ambassador to Vienna Ayşe Sezgin, was attended by Austrian journalists, artists, as well as selected Turkish and Austrian people. Delivering a speech before the concert, Sezgin said Onay was a successful artist regarded as the contemporary Chopin, both in the Turkish and international music arena.

From Haydn to Mozart

Sezgin noted that culture and arts are one of the most important factors in improving political and economic relations between Turkey and Austria. She said Onay’s concerts have been broadcasted across European and U.S. televisions.

Onay opened the concert with Joseph Haydn’s Andante Con Variazioni and continued with pieces by Felix Mendelssohn-Bartholdy, Ahmed Adnan Saygun, Frederic Chopin, Franz Schubert and Mozart.
