Pi Artworks displays Atakan works
The show consists of Atakan’s newest work, investigating the routes taken by individuals and societies to becoming attractive to others. Women and men undergo surgery to alter their physical appearance.
Politicians promote urban transformation to attract global investment. Plastic surgeons add to and take away from human bodies like sculptors. Violence of this type can be both physical and psychological.
Atakan uses different techniques such as silkscreen, photography, digital prints and digital video to transform discarded objects taken from the local flea market.
