Palestinian President Abbas to visit Türkiye for talks with Erdoğan

Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas will visit Türkiye on Aug. 11-13 at the invitation of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, Communications Director Burhanettin Duran has announced.

Erdoğan and Abbas will hold talks on Aug. 12 on the latest developments in Palestine, bilateral relations and regional issues, Duran said on the Turkish social media platform NSosyal.

Abbas last visited Ankara in August 2024, when he met Erdoğan and addressed an extraordinary session of parliament. Their talks focused on Gaza, efforts toward a ceasefire and the delivery of humanitarian aid.
