Pakistan’s culture presented in Ankara

During the event at Swissotel, Pakistan’s famous fashion designer Nilüfer Şahit presented her collection.

Deputy Prime Minister Bülent Arınç and others celebrated the close relationship between Pakistan and Turkey at a Pakistan Culture Week ceremony hosted by Pakistani Ambassador Muhammed Haroon Shaukat. 

The popular Pakistani group Fareed Ayaz Qawwal and Party staged a show and a concert during the ceremony, which was held at Swissotel. 

Poems by the poet Muhammed İkbal were read during the Pakistan Culture Week celebration. After the show, fashion designer Nilüfer Şahit presented new designs. 

‘Poem recital affected me deeply’

Deputy Foreign Minister Naci Koru also attended the evening. Arınç attended the celebration with Münevver Arınç, his wife.

Arınç said the poem recital had affected him deeply, speaking to Anatolia news agency afterward.
He said the two countries had a close relationship. “The love continues between [our] two cultures and it is very important for us.”

This celebratory week, which also contributes to the friendship between the two countries, is called “Cive Cive Pakistan,” Arınç said. 

The ceremony continued with Pakistani food.
