One specialized sergeant wounded in PKK attack in Turkey’s west

One specialized sergeant was wounded in an attack by outlawed Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK) militants during an operation by security officials in the western province of İzmir on June 7.
 
Operations against PKK militants had been launched in the Aegean district, in which the militants detonated a hand grenade they had hidden at around 1.30 p.m. in İzmir.

The wounded specialized soldier was taken to Kemalpaşa State Hospital and his condition was not said to be life-threatening.  

Meanwhile, five shelters were found in the Vişneli neighborhood in the operations, which are still ongoing.
