One soldier killed in PKK attack in Turkey’s Diyarbakır

One soldier was killed and another was wounded on July 26 in an attack by outlawed Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK) militants in the Silvan district of the southeastern province of Diyarbakır.

According to military sources, PKK militants carried out a rocket attack targeting soldiers providing security for a dam construction in the district. 

One soldier was killed and another was wounded after a rocket shell hit a shack housing the soldiers.

Meanwhile, an operation has begun in the region to apprehend the fleeing militants responsible for the attack.
