One missing woman found dead in flood in Turkey's Trabzon

The body of an elderly woman, who went missing in a flash flood in the Black Sea province of Trabzon, was found yesterday, while the search for another missing woman is ongoing.

The search teams reached the body of Şakire Ateş, 70, who was lost in a flood in Taşdelen village of Yomra district along with her daughter-in-law Memnune Ateş. The two women were collecting hazelnuts in the garden on Aug. 19 when a flash flood hit the village.

Şakire Ateş’s body was found under the wreck of a wooden stall which collapsed following a landslide caused by the heavy rain. The search and rescue teams are continuing their work to find the other woman.
