There is no terrorist infiltration from the Turkish planes to the U.S., Nationalist Movement Party (MHP) leader Devlet Bahçeli said on March 25, urging Washington to look in the mirror over the infiltration of the U.S.-based Islamic preacher Fethullah Gülen, who is accused of masterminding the failed coup attempt.

“U.S. should be honest and they should not paper over evidence (on Gülen). They should not refrain from bringing those responsible for the July 15 disaster to justice. Thank God, there is no terrorist infiltration from the Turkish planes and it will not be allowed. U.S. should look in the mirror and watch out their vandal and barbarian friend in the guise of a preacher. They already infiltrated to the U.S. and set to work,” Bahçeli told a rally in the Central Anatolian province of Kayseri, commenting on the U.S. electronics ban.

On March 21, the U.S. Department of Homeland Security said the restrictions would apply to flights from 10 foreign airports in eight Muslim-majority countries, including Atatürk Airport. The U.K. later issued a similar ban on all flights from airports in Turkey, Lebanon, Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Jordan and Tunisia.
