ISTANBUL
New photos of outlawed Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK) leader Abdullah Öcalan, who has been imprisoned on the island of İmralı for 14 years, have been released, stirring a commotion on social media.

In the photos, Öcalan is seen with a whitened beard, sitting around a table with Peace and Democracy Party (BDP) lawmaker Pervin Buldan and BDP co-chair Selahattin Demirtaş during one of the BDP delegation’s visits to İmralı on Aug. 17, where Öcalan is serving his life sentence.

Buldan confirmed the authenticity of the photo, while noting that her party did not release the photo.
