Municipal police kicks Syrian refugee children out of free dinner line in Turkey’s east

BİNGÖL
A municipal police officer and the driver of a local mayor have been seen slapping Syrian refugee children who were waiting in line to receive free food for the Ramadan meal of iftar, eliciting immediate criticism when footage of the incident in the eastern province of Bingöl was posted on social media. Two people are seen in the footage slapping children waiting in the iftar food line, as they prevented the children from getting food.

The distribution of free food was organized by the mayor and his wife.

Many social media users reacted to the incident, saying it was “inhumane” to prevent children from getting free food.
