Munich Chamber Orchestra at Hagia Irene

A shining beacon in German orchestral life, the Munich Chamber Orchestra will make tonight at 8 p.m. its debut at the Istanbul Music Festival under the baton of its artistic director, Alexander Liebreich, with a program centering upon “Time and Transformation.” This exquisite musical evening will feature one of the iconic virtuosos of the new generation: Khatia Buniatishvili. The Münchener Kammerorchester has mainly recorded with the Edition of Contemporary Music (ECM). In 2009 they recorded Madhares, works of Thomas Larcher for piano and orchestra with Till Fellner, and for viola and chamber orchestra with Kim Kashkashian, conducted by Dennis Russell Davies.
