Forum Gaziantep will host 120 national and international brands.

Multi Development announced the opening of its 11th mall in Turkey in the southeastern city of Gaziantep at the beginning of the month through a written statement yesterday.

Covering an area of 44,000 square meters, the mall includes 120 retail stores, a movie-theatre-complex, entertainment areas, a supermarket, restaurants and an indoor parking lot with 1,500 spaces, the company said.

Gaziantep is one of the largest and richest cities in Turkey with a strong production-based economy. The city also neighbors civil war-torn Syria, which puts the province within the influence orbit of the political developments in the country as well as of Turkey-Syria relations.

Forum Gaziantep will host 120 national and international brands such as Mediamarket, Boyner - a department store, Koçtaş - a home improvement store, Starbucks, Migros, H&M and Mango, in addition to an 11-screen cinema, the largest in the region.

“Preparing to welcome 9 million visitors per year and generating an estimated 3,500 jobs, Forum Gaziantep will be a significant contribution to the local economy,” the company said.

A U.S. private equity giant, Blackstone, said Oct. 3 it completed its acquisition of Dutch mall developer Multi Corporation.

Multi currently owns or manages 56 malls across 13 European countries.
