Modern Talking soloist comes to Istanbul

ISTANBUL
Thomas Anders, the lead singer of popular German pop-duo Modern Talking, which left its mark on the 1980s, will perform at Cemal Reşit Rey (CRR) Concert Hall in Istanbul on May 28.

Modern Talking has been one of the most successful German pop projects. During their career, the band released six albums and nine singles, five of which went to number one in many charts worldwide.

In 1984, the world was conquered with the hit “You’re My Heart, You’re My Soul,” recorded together with soloist Dieter Bohlen.

In total, over 60 million copies of albums were sold worldwide. The band’s albums went platinum 40 times and gold 200 times.

Since 1987 Anders has pursued a solo career, releasing his first album in 1989. The singers announced plans to reunite in 1998, but Anders subsequently returned to his solo career in 2003.

Speaking to the organization company of the concert, Pasion Turca, Anders said he really loved Istanbul. “I have been to Turkey many times. I am looking forward to being in Istanbul again.”

When asked what type of music he currently listened to, Anders said: “All music types are different tastes. I listen to jazz, chill-out and lounge. I like listening to music that relieves me. I also like listening to the radio to follow the world.”

As for the Istanbul concert, the musician said he would perform top hits from both Modern Talking and his solo career.
