German-Turk footballer Mesut Özil will be inducted to the Madame Tussauds museum with a lifetime wax sculpture.

The 24-year-old attacking midfielder, who plays for Spanish giants Real Madrid, announced the news on his Facebook page.

“Starting in June 2013, I will be able to visit myself. Because then “I” will be at Madame Tussauds’ wax museum in Berlin,” the player announced.

The sculpture of Özil, who was born and raised in Germany to a Turkish family, will be exhibited at the Berlin branch of the world-famous Madame Tussauds museum.

Özil was chosen after an online poll and will be the only active German international team player standing at Madame Tussauds.

“I am especially proud, therefore, that I was chosen by the fans,” said Özil, who added he “got ‘measured’ in Madrid” on Jan. 22.

Özil will join legendary players Franz Beckenbauer and Oliver Kahn as the German players in Madame Tussauds Berlin.

“I am curious about how I will look as a wax figure,” he added.
