Main indictment into failed July 15 coup accepted by court

ANKARA

The Ankara 17th Criminal Court has accepted the main indictment into the failed July 15 coup, which is believed to have been orchestrated by U.S.-based preacher Fethullah Gülen.

The indicment, which includes a total of 221 suspects, cites President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and Chief of the Army Gen. Hulusi Akar among the victims and complainants.

A preliminary proceedings report, however, has not yet been prepared.
