Luggage causes bomb scare in busy Istanbul square

A piece of hand luggage left in Istanbul's Taksim Square sparked panic today as locals called police on suspicions that that the unattended bag might be a bomb.
 
The bag was left in front of a bank near Kazancı Street in Taksim Square, prompting locals to call the police.
 
Security forces arriving at the scene, closing off parts of the square to traffic and cordoning off a section of the area as bomb squads approached the suspicious luggage.

The bag was found to contain no explosives after specialists blew it open with a fuse.
