Rixos, a leading Turkish hotel chain, inaugurated a new tourism facility yesterday in Dubai.

Rixos opened The Palm Dubai in a ceremony attended by Dubai Emir Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid al-Maktoum, ruling Justice and Development Party (AKP) deputy chairmen Ömer Çelik and Hüseyin Çelik and Culture and Tourism Minister Ertuğrul Günay.

“We have invested $50 million in this hotel we have rented for 20 years,” Fettah Tamince, the head of the executive board of Rixos Hotels, said during the inauguration ceremony.

Tamince also said Rixos would open six more facilities, five of which would be overseas, in 2012. Rixos Hotels had a turnover of $330 million in 2011.
