Karamanoğlu’s murder suspects captured: Interior Ministry

ISTANBUL

Burak Can Karamanoğlu was killed by a gunshot on the sidelines of a police crackdown during Berkin Elvan’s funeral in Istanbul.

The murder suspects of Burak Can Karamanoğlu, who was killed by a gunshot on March 12 on the sidelines of a police crackdown during Berkin Elvan’s funeral in Istanbul, have been captured, the Interior Ministry said.

“Criminal lab tests have determined the bullet, which killed Karamanoğlu, was fired from the seized gun,” it said.

Some eight people were taken into custody in simultaneous raids conducted in three Istanbul districts on March 25 as a part of the investigation into Karamanoğlu’s death.

Police have reportedly meticulously examined all of the camera footage available in the area of the Okmeydanı neighborhood where Karamanoğlu was killed.
