Istanbul Jazz Festival to end with closing party

ISTANBUL
The 22nd Istanbul Jazz Festival will end on July 15 with a closing party at the Uniq Open Air Stage. One of the most promising and creative trumpeters of the jazz scene, Theo Croker, will open the night. Then, the go-getter Australian neo-soul quartet Hiatus Kaiyote will storm the stage. Finally, a talented British soul musician who has been favorably compared to Bill Withers and Otis Redding, Michael Kiwanuka, will close the night.

Before the closing party, Sinatra and Lady Day will celebrate the centennial of Frank Sinatra and Billie Holiday with songs which mark the era when the legendary musicians’ paths crossed. Grammy-winning music director Terri Lyne Carrington will lead her jazz ensemble featuring pianist Aaron Parks, with Oleta Adams, Aloe Blacc and China Moses in performing a number of iconic songs. The event will be hosted tonight by the Embassy of Germany Tarabya Summer Residence.

Tickets for the event are available at Biletix.
