A city bus was totally burned out in a Molotov cocktail attack in Istanbul’s Okmeydanı neighborhood today. No injuries have yet been reported.

The attack is thought to have been conducted by supporters of the outlawed Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK), as a protest on the 14th anniversary of the arrest of the jailed leader of the PKK, Abdullah Öcalan.

A number of firefighters and ambulances were dispatched to the scene in the immediate aftermath of the attack.

Öcalan, who was captured in Kenya on Feb. 15, 1999, is currently serving a life sentence on İmralı island prison in the Sea of Marmara.
