Interior Ministry suspends 265 personnel from Gendarmerie and Coast Guard Command

ANKARA – Anadolu Agency
Turkey’s Interior Ministry has suspended 153 more personnel from the Gendarmerie and 112 from the Coast Guard Commandership as part of the investigation into the movement of U.S.-based Islamic preacher Fethullah Gülen, believed to be behind the July 15 military coup attempt.

A statement from the ministry on Oct. 28 said the suspensions came after the probe found evidence that these personnel had links to what the government and prosecutors call the Fethullahist Terror Organization (FETÖ).
