IMF chief Christine Lagarde has been summoned to appear before a court investigating alleged corruption during her time as a French government minister, her lawyer said Thursday.

Lagarde has been ordered to appear before the court at the end of May to answer questions over her role in a scandal centred on a huge payout to disgraced tycoon Bernard Tapie, the lawyer, Yves Repiquet, told AFP.
