Gül hosts ‘chiefs of powers’ at luncheon

President Abdullah Gül hosted yesterday the heads of the legislative, executive and judicial bodies – Parliamentary Speaker Cemil Çiçek, Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and the chiefs of the top courts – at a luncheon marking the new year.

In addition to Çiçek and Erdoğan, Haşim Kılıç, the head of the Constitutional Court; Ali Alkan, the head of the Supreme Court of Appeals; Hüseyin Karakullukçu, the head of the Council of State; Justice Minister Sadullah Ergin, who is also the head of the Supreme Board of Judges and Prosecutors (HSYK); Recai Akyel, the head of the Court of Accounts; Serdar Özgüldür, the head of the Court of Conflicts; Brig. Gen. Hasan Dengiz, the head of the Military Supreme Court of Appeals; Brig. Gen. Abdullah Arslan, the head of the Military High Administrative Court; Mustafa İsen, the secretary-general of the presidency; and Koray Ertaş, the chief of Gül’s Cabinet, were hosted at the Çankaya Palace.

The luncheon, which was closed to press, lasted around 1.5 hours.
