Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and a number of his ministers met yesterday in an unannounced meeting to discuss the current state of the fight against terrorism.

Sources said the meeting was routine and aimed to update the prime minister and other ministers on new developments. Alongside Deputy Prime Minister Beşir Atalay, Interior Minister İdris Naim Şahin and Justice Minister Sadullah Ergin, the head of the National Intelligence Organization (MİT), Hakan Fidan, also participated in the meeting. Meanwhile, there has been some military mobility near the Iraqi border, DHA reported yesterday, adding that a military convoy was seen heading to the eastern province of Hakkari’s Çukurca district, fueling speculation on a possible incursion into northern Iraq.
