German tourist drowns in Turkey’s Antalya

A German tourist has drowned in the Manavgat district of the southern province of Antalya, Doğan News Agency reported on June 24. 

Christine Scherer, 78, who was in Manavgat for vacation, went swimming in front of the five-star hotel she was staying in. 

Medical teams were called to the area after those nearby saw Scherer lying motionless on the sea. 

After the initial treatment, she was taken to Private Side Anatolian Hospital, where she couldn’t be saved. 

Her body was put into the morgue for an autopsy.
