French company eyes shares in Turkey's TAV

French construction company Vinci is interested in buying the shares put up for sale by TAV Airports partners Akfen Holding and Tepe Construction, the firm's chief executive officer, Xavier Huillard, said today.
 
Akfen and Tepe had announced that they were planning to sell most of their shares in TAV Airports; together, the pair own 40 percent of the company’s total shares.
 
Qatar Investment Authority, in a partnership with the Carlyle Group, also expressed interest in the bid. 
 
Tepe currently holds 26.06 percent shares in TAV Airports while Akfen has 26.12 percent and Sera Yapı Industry has 4.03 percent. 
 
Tepe and Akfen's shares will be reduced to 8 percent each after the shares are sold.
 
TAV Airports is currently valued at $1.8 billion.
