Foundation to keep Ara Güler’s archives

The foundation bearing the name of famous Turkish photographer Ara Güler aims to preserve his archives and also develop visual journalism in Turkey.

A new foundation has been established to preserve Ara Güler’s photography archives and develop visual journalism.

The Ara Güler Photography Education and Art Foundation will work with associations and legal institutions to spread photo journalism and prevent its misuse and corruption. The foundation will also support successful photo journalists and give awards in different competitions.

The foundation will hold courses and workshops to spread and develop visual journalism, and also support research in the field. It is expected to establish an Ara Güler Museum as one its first projects.
The foundation will be introduced at a press conference Sept. 12.
