A forecasted snowfall in Istanbul has affected a number of flights and ferries on Jan. 25, as carriers have announced cancelations in both domestic and international transportation.

Turkish Airlines announced on Jan. 25 that a total of 143 domestic and international flights scheduled from Istanbul Atatürk Airport and Sabiha Gökçen Airport had been canceled for Jan. 26 and Jan. 27.

“Some of our flights have been canceled due to forecasted meteorological events and heavy snowfall in Istanbul’s Atatürk and Sabiha Gökçen airports. We urge our passengers to get informed and get updates about their flights by checking our website or calling out call center,” the carrier said in a statement on its website.

Meanwhile, low-cost carrier Pegasus canceled 22 flights scheduled for Jan. 26.

In addition, Istanbul’s Fast Ferry and Sea Bus Company (IDO) also announced that it had canceled all of its domestic ferries in Istanbul.
