Fire breaks out in forested area in Istanbul

A fire has broken out in a forested area in Istanbul’s Sancaktepe, according to Doğan News Agency.

Firefighter squads were immediately sent to the area. Helicopters are also being kept on standby to take off in case the need arises.

The cause of the fire is as yet unknown.

A similar incident occurred in Maltepe last night, where the fire lasted for about an hour before being put out.
