Film festival back in Batman after 10 years

Actress Hülya Koçyiğit is welcomed by locals of the city, where she arrived for the 2nd Batman Film Festival, organized after a 10-year hiatus.

The Batman International Film Festival, organized by the Batman Provincial Culture and Tourism Directorate, opened yesterday following a 10-year hiatus.

Turkish films such as “Tepenin Ardı” (Behind the Hill), “Lal Gece” (Night of Silence), “Ateşin Düştüğü Yer” (Where the Fire Burns), “Zerre” (The Particle) and “Kelebeğin Rüyası” (Butterfly’s Dream) will be screened at the event until April 22. The festival will also screen actress Hülya Koçyiğit’s “Kurbağalar” (Frogs) and Türkan Şoray’s classic “Selvi Boylum Al Yazmalım” (Girl with the Red Scarf), as well as feature talks and conferences.     

Screenings are continuing at the Yılmaz Güney Movie Theater, Batman Provincial Culture and Tourism Movie Theater and Batman Park Movie Theater.

Batman University will also host a panel as part of the event.
